How to become a volunteer

  1. Submit a volunteer application through LAUSD.  Volunteer applications can be accessed here: https://volunteerapp.lausd.net.  If you don’t already have one, you will need to create an LAUSD parent account.

  2. Fill out the volunteer application and select the volunteer area for which you would like to volunteer for. There are two tiers of volunteers:

    • Tier II volunteers include classroom, campus, office, and field trip volunteers, as well as room parents and family center volunteers.  Requirements for this tier include California Megan’s Law website clearance completed by the school administration and TB clearance.

    • Tier III volunteers include one-on-one tutoring volunteers, cafeteria volunteers, and overnight field trip volunteers.  Requirements for this tier include California Megan’s Law website clearance completed by the school administration, TB clearance, and Livescan fingerprint clearance.

Note: In the past, overnight field trips have only been available for Clifford students in upper grades (4th & 5th)

  3. Submit Tuberculosis clearance, including a screening or negative result. A copy of your TB test results can be emailed directly to Ms. Puentes at norma.puentes@lausd.net, or you can ask your medical provider to fill out this Tuberculosis Physician Clinic Form and then send it to Ms. Puentes.
Note: If you do not have a healthcare provider or insurance, you can go to the nearest Public Health Immunization Clinic.

  4. Once the online volunteer application is completed and submitted electronically, the application must be approved by the principal.

  5. You will receive an email from the district once your volunteer application is approved along with a letter and temporary badge.

  6. Once approved you can email your student’s teacher via email or ClassDojo and ask if they need help in their classroom.  To volunteer in the parent center you can contact  Mrs. Perez via ClassDojo or in-person.

Panda Store

The Panda Paw Store gives students the opportunity to redeem their Panda Paws every two weeks for demonstrating good behavior, participation, and displaying Panda PRIDE! It's always fun to watch students redeem their Paws, and it's a great chance to meet other parents.

As a volunteer, you will assist with setting up prizes on the designated tables in the lunch pavilion and help students redeem their Panda Paws. Shifts are from 1:50–2:20 PM every other Friday.
